Job summary

Meijer is seeking a pharmacist to fill prescriptions safely and build positive relationships with patients and staff. The role involves mentoring technicians, ensuring compliance with policies and laws, and overseeing operations in the pharmacist-in-charge absence.

Responsibilities include immunizations where allowed, educating staff, and driving patient-focused service while maintaining strong organizational skills and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana) Retail/Community Practice.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy system, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements in the state the unit operates.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results and support growth of the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Be competent and knowledgeable of Meijer policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Communicate effectively and serve as an agent of change.
• Maintain good organizational skills and prioritize workload.
• Listen to patients and resolve their needs; provide customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, oversee pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee clinical services where allowed, including immunizations.
