Job summary

Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a full-time onsite Lead Staff Fulfillment Pharmacist. The role includes supervising technicians, validating prescriptions, and coordinating with prescribers to expedite orders.

The position will move to Elgin, IL in January 2027 and involves an 8:00 am–5:00 pm weekday schedule with occasional on-call duties. Qualified candidates hold PharmD or B.S.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD or B.S. Pharmacy degree.
• Current resident pharmacist license in good standing; willing to obtain additional licensing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to work with physicians and patients.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and verify information to expedite orders.
• Flexible schedule for peak volumes and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians.
• Interpret prescriptions and verify drug strength, sig, and name to expedite processing.
• Contact doctors/patients to verify information and ensure accuracy.
• Verify controlled substance validity and data entry accuracy.
• Back up pharmacists and train staff as needed; meet quality/service goals.
