Job summary

CCWV is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to perform clinical and professional pharmaceutical work in the compounding and dispensing of drugs. You will prepare medications, provide pharmacological information to healthcare teams, and monitor patient therapies.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, detecting incompatibilities, counseling patients, training staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current registration to practice pharmacy in the state.
• One (1) year of previous pharmacy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
• Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
• Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies. Counsel and advise patients on public health matters, treatment of minor ailments, and adverse side effects of medicines and potential interactions with other medications or treatments.
• Develops staff's pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy

Current registration to practice pharmacy in the state

One year of previous pharmacy experience is preferred
