Job summary

Community Care Of West Virginia Inc. seeks a pharmacist to provide clinical and professional pharmaceutical services, including dispensing, patient counseling, and drug therapy monitoring.

The role involves collaboration with healthcare teams, education of staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The successful candidate will uphold infection control, supervise technicians, and contribute to safe, effective medication use across CCWV facilities.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current state license to practice pharmacy.
• Experience in hospital/clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Monitors patient drug therapies and advises interventions.
• Counsels patients on drug therapies and public health matters, including adverse effects and interactions.
• Maintains narcotic inventory and controlled substance records; ensures compliance with regulations.
• Provides pharmacological information to healthcare teams and supports education of staff and students.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy

Current license to practice pharmacy in the state

Experience in hospital/clinical pharmacy preferred
