Job summary

Martin Marietta seeks a Lead Person at the Saylorville Sand site in Des Moines, IA to assist local leadership with daily operations, safety compliance, and training. The role covers multiple positions within the site scope and operates in an underground environment.

Daily tasks include data entry for safety and production, inspections, and ensuring quality. A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate’s degree in construction management is preferred, with mining experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s degree in construction management or similar field is preferred.
• One or more years’ experience in a mining operation is required.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily expectations for local leadership based on safety, quality and production needs.
• Provide training for new hires and transfer employees to ensure competencies are developed.
• Perform data entry operations for safety and production control and communication.
• Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of the operation.
• Must make regular inspections on safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation.
• Provide guidance to employees on safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, local agencies and MM policies.
• Assist Plant Management with covering schedule gaps as needed.
• Complete daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately.
• Responsible for maintaining quality of all products.
• Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards as established.
• Assist with equipment repairs and housekeeping as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

Martin Mariettais currently looking for a Lead Person to be responsible for assisting local leadership with daily operations expectations. This includes solving basic issues, safety compliance, training and the ability to cover positions within their scope of responsibility. This position will be based at our Saylorville Sand location in Des Moines, IA.

Essential Functions

This job operates frequently in operations and maintenance environments in an underground operation.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that works 40+ hours per week

Education and Experience
