Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Foreman to supervise operational activities across Des Moines Portable 1 and multiple sites, including Winterset, IA and Fort Calhoun, NE. Regular travel between locations is essential.

The role requires overseeing production and maintenance, leading a team of up to 24, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance. A strong candidate will have mining supervision experience and a solid educational background.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a mining environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise training and development of the team, schedule work, and manage performance of the hourly workforce.
• Lead safety and environmental processes and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Direct production, safety, and environmental metrics to meet objectives.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with site teams across locations.
• Utilize PC tools (MS Office, AggFlow and similar programs) to monitor operations.
• Provide positive leadership within the team and mentor staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Martin Marietta is currently seeking a Foreman to supervise operational activities for Des Moines Portable 1. Responsibilities include supervising plant production, plant maintenance and mobile equipment operations across multiple sites as needed. This operation supports our Winterset, IA, Springfield, NE, and Fort Calhoun West, NE locations, as well as other sites as required. Regular travel between locations is an essential function of the position.

This position will supervise up to 24 direct reports.

This job operates frequently in operations and maintenance environments in open pit quarry locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Required Education and Experience

• Previous experience in aggregate operations
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years related experience
• Previous supervisory experience in a mining environment
• Must have a valid U.S driver's license
• Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a mining environment
