Martin Marietta is seeking a Night Shift Lead to support local leadership in daily operations at the Durham Mine in Harvey, IA. The role involves safety compliance, training, issue resolution, and coverage of positions within scope.

Works in an underground mining environment with 40+ hour weeks and occasional travel. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year mining experience, and a valid driver’s license; an associate degree in construction management or similar is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in construction management or similar field is preferred.
• One or more years’ experience in a mining operation is required.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily expectations for local leadership based on safety, quality, and production needs.
• Provide training for new hires and transfers to ensure competencies.
• Perform data entry operations for safety and production control and communication.
• Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of the operation.
• Make regular inspections on safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues.
• Guide employees on safety rules, regulations, and procedures of mine and policy.
• Assist Plant Management with covering schedule gaps as needed.
• Complete daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately.
• Maintain quality of all products.
• Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards.
• Assist with equipment repairs and housekeeping as needed.

Job description

Martin Mariettais currently looking for a Night Shift Lead person to be responsible for assisting local leadership with daily operations expectations. This includes solving basic issues, safety compliance, training and the ability to cover positions within their scope of responsibility. This position will be based at our Durham Mine in Harvey, IA.

Essential Functions

• Communicate daily expectations for local leadership based on the safety, quality and production needs.
• Provide training for new hires and transfer employees to ensure competencies are developed.
• Perform data entry operations for safety and production control and communication.
• Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of the operation.
• Must make regular inspections on safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation.
• Provide guidance to employees on safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, local agencies and MM policies.
• Assist Plant Management with covering schedule gaps as needed.
• Complete daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately.
• Responsible for maintaining quality of all products.
• Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards as established.
• Assist with equipment repairs and housekeeping as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

This job operates frequently in operations and maintenance environments in an underground operation.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that works 40+ hours per week

Education and Experience
