Job summary

Eye Care of San Diego is seeking a Lead Registered Nurse to provide high-quality peri-operative nursing care and to perform Lead RN duties in support of the ASC Nurse Manager. The role includes circulating, staff training, and patient education across preoperative and postoperative areas.

Qualifications include California RN license, ACLS/BLS, and at least 5 years in hospital or surgery center settings, with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Registered Nursing Program from college or technical school.
• Minimum 5 years RN experience in hospital or surgery center setting preferred.
• One-year pre-operative and post-operative experience highly preferred.
• Experience as a lead or charge nurse strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and optimize patient flow from registration through discharge to ensure efficient flow and excellent patient experience.
• Coordinate ASC staff breaks, shifts, and after-hours staffing to ensure continuity of care.
• Plan staff schedules and CMS compliance issues with the ASC Nurse Manager.
• Prepare patients for procedures with pre-operative assessment and procedures.
• Communicate with physicians, circulating staff, recovery room nurses, anesthesia providers and surgeons to coordinate care.
