Job summary

Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) seeks a Payroll Accountant to lead the bi-weekly payroll process for its Glen Allen, VA office. The roleCollaborates with HR and Accounting to ensure timely payroll, accurate tax filings, and compliant reporting.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, at least five years in general accounting, and three years of payroll experience. JD Edwards and Hyperion skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related major
• Minimum 5 years’ general accounting experience
• Minimum 3 years’ payroll processing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead accountant for bi-weekly payroll processing for nonexempt and exempt staff
• Prepare monthly payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations
• Record and reconcile monthly general ledger and fixed asset activity for related entities
• Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley annual process updates and audits
• Prepare and present annual operating budgets for affected entities
• Support year-end closing and audit schedules
