Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a highly experienced Lead Engineer to drive architecture, design, and delivery of a next-generation wire payment processing platform. You will provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams, shaping technology strategy and roadmaps for scalable, resilient solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on Java, Spring, Kafka, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), with experience in distributed data systems and modern payment systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience with payment platforms and cloud architectures.
• Experience deploying on AWS using EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway.
• Hands-on with IaC (CloudFormation or Terraform) and CI/CD integration.
• Proven leadership in enterprise-scale Java/Spring-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and define engineering strategy for complex, business-critical initiatives.
• Define technology tool stack and evaluate new testing frameworks for CI/CD pipelines.
• Enable CI/CD capabilities across teams and ensure efficient delivery of features.
• Mentor engineers and promote design and code best practices.
