Job summary

Bank of America is hiring a Lead Engineer to drive the architecture, design, and delivery of a next-generation wire payment processing platform. The role requires deep expertise in Java, AWS, Oracle, Kafka, and cloud platforms, with leadership across multiple teams.

You will mentor engineers, define engineering best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders and architects to shape technology strategy and roadmaps for scalable, resilient solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in payment platforms and systems.
• Strong knowledge of Wire, ACH, RTP payment rails and ISO 20022.
• Experience deploying on AWS with EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway.
• Hands-on IaC with CloudFormation or Terraform.
• CI/CD integration using AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy.
• Proven leadership mentoring teams and delivering enterprise-scale Java/Oracle solutions.
• Proficient in Java EE, Spring, Hibernate; Spring RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure design/engineering alignment with portfolio.
• Enable CI/CD capabilities across teams.
• Mentor engineers and establish engineering best practices.
• Deliver scalable, resilient, high-performing enterprise solutions.
