Job summary

Bank of America in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive architecture and delivery of a next-generation wire payment processing platform. You will lead cross-functional teams and define technology strategy across Java, Node.js, and cloud services.

The role demands deep payment systems expertise, hands-on design, mentoring, and a track record of delivering enterprise-scale solutions in a fast-paced environment with CI/CD and secure cloud architecture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in payment platforms and enterprise software.
• Strong knowledge of payment rails including Wire, ACH, RTP.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proven leadership and mentoring of engineering teams.
• Expertise with Java, Spring, Hibernate and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Finacle core banking platform is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensures design and engineering approach for complex features aligns with the larger portfolio solution.
• Defines technology tool stack for the solution and evaluates new testing tools/frameworks.
• Enables CI/CD capabilities and coordinates with stakeholders for efficient pipelines.
• Guides design and best practices for high code performance through reviews and collaboration.
• Delivers end-to-end complex features for one or multiple teams at program level.
• Performs research, prototyping and evaluates new toolsets for releases and CI/CD.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to capture high-level needs and works with architects on requirements.
