Job summary

Adcamp Inc. is seeking a Paving Screed Operator – Lead Asphalt Mat Quality & Precision to join our Flowood, MS field team.

You will control mat thickness, cross-slope, and surface smoothness on commercial, industrial, and government projects, ensuring all passes meet design specs. You will coordinate with the Paver Operator, adjust screed settings in real time, and uphold safety and quality standards on outdoor environments.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of verifiable screed operation on commercial or roadway paving projects.
Ability to read and interpret paving plans, cross-sections, and smoothness specifications.
Reliable team player with understanding of paving aesthetics and structural standards.
Physical stamina to work outdoors for extended shifts.

Responsibilities

Operate and adjust the paver screed to achieve mat thickness, cross-slope, and surface texture.
Make real-time screed adjustments in response to changing mix temperatures and subgrade conditions.
Monitor and maintain a consistent head of material across the screed width to avoid defects.
Set screed extensions, end gates, and auger extensions for variable-width paving.
Coordinate with the Paver Operator on machine speed, temperature settings, and stopping procedures.
Participate in joint construction tasks including heating joints and wedge cuts.
