Job summary

Hinkle Contracting, LLC is seeking a skilled Screed Operator to run the screed on an asphalt paver, making depth, grade, and cross-section adjustments. You may add or remove screed extensions and assist with related paving tasks.

The role requires physical effort, teamwork, and adherence to safety rules in a dynamic outdoor setting. Overtime and travel to job sites are required, with reporting to the Paving Foreman.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Pass a pre-employment Fit for Work physical.
• Provide documentation for I-9 eligibility.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and a suitable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and travel as needed.
• Able to stand for long periods and wear PPE as required.
• 1 year experience as a screed operator preferred.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operates screed on asphalt paver and makes normal depth/grade adjustments.
• May add or remove screed extensions and operate related paving equipment.
• Maintain, oil, grease, and service equipment; assist crew as needed.
• Follow safety procedures per OSHA/MSHA and company policy.
• Work with foreperson and team, travel to job sites as required.
