Job summary

Edgewood Properties Inc. seeks a Paving and Earthwork Foreman to lead a crew in paving operations and select earthwork tasks from our South Plainfield, NJ office. This hands-on role focuses on safety, quality, and efficient field execution.

You will oversee operators and laborers, operate paving equipment, and ensure daily productivity while maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of paving and earthwork experience.
• Strong ability to operate pavers and a wide variety of heavy equipment.
• Experience supervising paving or excavation crews.
• Knowledge of paving methods, materials, and best practices.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee paving and earthwork crews.
• Assign work, monitor productivity, ensure safety and quality.
• Train crew in paving and heavy equipment operations.
• Maintain equipment and report repairs.
• Lead paving operations: asphalt placement, grading, compaction, finish work.
• Operate paver and heavy equipment as needed.
• Drive company truck with paving tools.
• Enforce OSHA safety rules and PPE compliance.
• Report safety issues to Division Manager.
• Inspect work to verify specs and materials.
