Job summary

Edgewood Properties Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator-Earthwork/Pipework for our Excavation Department.

The role operates out of the South Plainfield, NJ office and supports ongoing construction and development plans across our portfolio of properties. Responsibilities include operating dozers, excavators, rollers, and loaders; following project plans; inspecting and maintaining equipment; and contributing to site safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience operating various equipment.
• Reliable transportation to and from job site locations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
• Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
• Capacity to provide and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate dozers, excavators, rollers, end dumps, scrapers, and loaders.
• Apply knowledge of earthwork and utility operations; follow plans and specs.
• Inspect and maintain vehicles; monitor oil, water, tires, grease.
• Follow safety codes; use PPE and maintain equipment.
• Load/unload soil, rocks and debris; ensure proper material placement.
• Follow foreman/supervisor project instructions and measurements.
• Assist with snow removal in communities and sites.
• Promote safety and environmental practices.
