Job summary

The Condado Collection is seeking a Pastry Cook for STK San Juan, Puerto Rico. The role focuses on leading the pastry station, maintaining quality, and delivering fresh desserts and breads for a busy dining room.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of pastry experience in a hotel or restaurant, with pastry-certifications preferred. Strong English and Spanish communication, and flexibility to work varied shifts, are essential.

Qualifications

• Hospitality oriented
• Min.1 year pastry cook experience in a hotel or restaurant
• Pastry certifications preferred
• Technical pastry knowledge
• Able to handle difficult situations effectively
• Able to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure
• Must be able to bend, stand for long periods, lift up to 60 pounds
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays
• Good communication in Spanish and English

Responsibilities

• Must dominate the pastry station.
• Ensures all food and preparation of their stations are ready for every shift.
• Ensures all pastries are prepared by recipes designated by the supervisor.
• Ensures food quality and quantity is correct.
• Responsible for complete setup, cleanliness and organization of the Pastry station before every shift.
• Keeps knowledge of pastry industry trends updated.
• Bakes fresh pastries, desserts and breads for the restaurant.
• Cleans preparation areas and implements sanitary practices.
• Controls freshness by rotating stock and checking quality.
• Estimates consumption and procures supplies.
• Aligns kitchen operations with property financial goals.
• Follows safety policies and reports incidents.
• Completes safety trainings and certifications.
• Maintains positive team relationships and professional appearance.
• Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Performs other reasonable duties as needed.
