First Alliance Church of Toccoa seeks a Lead Pastor to shepherd a congregation of 250+ with a strong emphasis on global missions and relational ministry. The pastor will provide strong yet humble leadership, uniting staff and the body around a shared vision for outreach and discipleship.

The role requires a pastor with integrity, effective communication, and a calling to disciple the church family in Christ, maturity, and service.

Qualifications

• Degree in pastoral ministry or related area required.
• Ordained (or willing to be) by The Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Lead Pastor Profile

First Alliance Church of Toccoa is seeking a Lead Pastor who will shepherd the congregation well, grow our strengths in global missions and loving relationships within the body, and provide strong yet humble leadership for the church as a whole as we engage our community and world.

The ideal candidate will have a strong pastoral calling and desire to know, love, and nurture his flock. He will be a preacher-teacher who knows and loves the Word of God, continually growing in his knowledge and understanding of God and His Word. A leader who is led by the Spirit, he will be able to unite his staff and the congregation around a godly vision for this church by encouraging and exhorting us to maturity in Christ.

We seek a mature man of God with integrity and compassion, a humble servant-leader who is approachable and a good communicator. He will lead the church in connecting to Christ, growing with others, and engaging the world.

Essential Characteristics, Skills, & Strengths

• Gifted in preaching and teaching the Word of God from the pulpit as well as in small groups and one-to-one conversations
• Passionate leader who cultivates a missional vision for First Alliance Church, delegating effectively and motivating others to service and ministry
• Proficient in relating to a multigenerational congregation of mature believers as well as those at various stages of spiritual growth
• Committed to collaborative leadership, working with elders and other leaders to nurture and disciple the body
• Characterized by values of humility, integrity, and accountability
• Skilled as a thoughtful listener and effective communicator
• Called to minister to and grow a congregation of 250+ people
• Committed to the district, national, and international missions of the C&MA

Requirements

• A degree in pastoral ministry or a related area
• Ordained (or willing to be) by the C&MA
• Committed to ongoing development and training
• This is an on-site job with office hours and weekend service attendance required.
