Elizabethton Alliance Church in Northeast Tennessee is prayerfully seeking an experienced Lead Pastor who is deeply committed to following the Spirit’s leading and is equipped to help us build upon the healthy momentum and positive trajectory God has established over the past several years. As our church has become an active and respected presence in the downtown community, our next pastor must be able to cultivate meaningful relationships both within the congregation and throughout the community, engaging with civic leaders, local organizations, and those we are called to serve.
We are seeking a leader who prayerfully discerns God’s direction, establishes clear goals, and inspires others to join in accomplishing them. He should be a leader of leaders — someone who identifies, develops, equips, and empowers others for ministry. Our next Lead Pastor will be a servant‑leader who comes alongside people to encourage, mentor, support, and strengthen them as they grow in their gifts and calling.
Our congregation desires a Lead Pastor who provides clear, consistent, and Christ‑centered leadership. He should lead with conviction while fostering unity, collaboration, and shared ownership of the church’s mission and vision. The prospective pastor, working in partnership with the elders, ministry leaders, and congregation, should be able to determine God’s calling regarding any necessary adjustments and then lead the church through those transitions with wisdom, humility, and confidence.
We are seeking a man of observable Biblical character whose love for Christ and compassion for people are evident in both his life and ministry. He should possess a deep knowledge of Scripture and faithfully teach and apply God’s Word with clarity, accuracy, and relevance. He should also be humble, prayerful, and continually dependent upon the Holy Spirit, demonstrating a genuine desire to seek and follow God’s leading in every area of life and ministry. Above all, he must intentionally cultivate and prioritize a vibrant, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, recognizing that effective ministry flows from a healthy and abiding walk with Him.
