Job summary

Current - A Christian Church in Katy, TX is seeking a Lead Pastor to guide a healthy transition over 3–6 months. You will work closely with our departing Lead Pastor and the Elder Team during the overlap, then lead with vision and confidence once the transition is complete.

You will preach regularly (40–45 times a year), shepherd staff, and collaborate with elders in governance while focusing on evangelistic outreach in our local mission field within our 900‑member weekly congregation.

Qualifications

• Biblically grounded, team-first leader with a servant‑leader heart.
• Theological alignment: Restoration Movement, expository preaching, weekly communion, believer's baptism.
• 8+ years of full-time ministry, including preaching and staff leadership.
• Character aligned with Elder qualifications in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Proven track record of building healthy teams and evangelistic outreach.
• Bible college and/or seminary education; Restoration Movement affiliation preferred.

Responsibilities

• During Transition Phase: build deep relationships with staff, elders, and congregation; preach regularly on the main stage and in other venues.
• Learn rhythms, systems, and leadership structures; engage deeply in the Katy community.
• As Lead Pastor: cast vision, preach 40–45 times/year; shepherd and develop staff; collaborate with elders.
• Champion renewed evangelistic focus in our local mission field.
