Job summary

Redemption City Church in Philadelphia seeks a Lead Pastor to serve as the church’s primary elder, providing spiritual leadership through preaching, teaching, and applying God’s Word. You will shepherd the congregation, develop leaders, and oversee the church's health with elders and staff.

Qualifications

• Preach and teach God’s Word in varied settings (worship, Bible study, etc.).
• Align with RCC doctrinal statement and core values.
• Deep love for Scripture with gospel-centered ministry; strong prayer life.
• Theological training required; seminary degree preferred.
• Elder qualifications per 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, discipleship, and crisis visitation.
• Oversee ministries, operations, staff, and budgeting with elders and deacons.
• Plan expositional, gospel-centered sermons; serve as the primary preacher and teacher.
• Develop staff, elder team, deacons and ministry leaders with a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Ensure organizational structures and policies support theological and missional vision.
