Job summary

LJA Surveying, a division of LJA Engineering, Inc., seeks a Party Chief to support surveying fieldwork across diverse projects. You will transport and set up instruments, prepare sites for surveying, and ensure accurate data collection for engineering design.

The role involves operating Trimble/Topcon equipment, recording field notes, and coordinating with team members to deliver precise survey results. Outdoor work and driving to sites are required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients.
• Experience in coordinating fieldwork and ensuring survey data quality.
• Willingness to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate surveying equipment (Trimble/Topcon GPS, robotic total stations) and data collectors.
• Prepare sketches and field notes describing property boundaries and corners.
• Locate property corners and document measurements with photos and labels.
• Upload field data to data collectors and prepare CAD-ready text files.
• Maintain detailed field notes and follow instructions precisely.
