Job summary

The Lead Paramedic role at MaineHealth EMS Scarborough Base provides both basic and advanced life support during emergency pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care to patients as indicated by state and local protocols. It also requires organizing and directing the daily operations of the assigned base.

This full-time position operates on rotating 12- and 24-hour shifts, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants and comprehensive benefits as part of MaineHealth.

Qualifications

• Completion of Paramedic Course required.
• Current applicable state(s) license as a Paramedic required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• PIFT Certification required within six months of start date.
• Locations in New Hampshire require a NH Paramedic License with a National Registry Paramedic License.

Responsibilities

Summary

The Lead Paramedic role provides both basic and advanced life support during emergency pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care to patients when indicated by the patient’s injury or illness in accordance with state and local protocols. Organizes and directs the daily operations of assigned base.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Completion of Paramedic Course required.
• License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Paramedic required. Valid Driver’s License required. Current BLS Certification required. PIFT Certification required within six months of start date. Locations in New Hampshire require a NH Paramedic License with a National Registry Paramedic License.
• Experience: One year of relevant experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $27.27 to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
