MaineHealth Emergency Medical Services at the Norway, ME base is seeking an EMT-Basic for per diem coverage. The role provides basic life support during pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care, adhering to state and local protocols, in close collaboration with MaineHealth Stephens Hospital ER staff.
The base operates 24/7 with multiple shift structures, a strong equipment package, and ongoing training to ensure high-quality patient care across surrounding towns.

This MaineHealth EMS Base is located at MaineHealth Stephens Hospital in Norway and covers 9 surrounding towns including 2 major ski resorts, as well as Paramedic Intercept Services for several outlying communities. We average around 5,500 calls per year, with about 70% of those being 911, and the other 30% being transfers. The base runs 3 crews 24/7 and we just added a 4 th crew on 12 hour days. This EMS team works very closely with the ER staff at MaineHealth Stephens Hospital. Every ambulance has a Stryker Power Load, Stryker Power Cot, Lucas Device, Zoll X Series Monitor, GlideScope Video Laryngoscope, Sage Mats with Air Pump, and other cutting-edge equipment.
This base runs several shift structures ranging from 12, to 24-hours in length and are as follows: 24-Hour shift from 8A - 8A. 16-Hour shift from 4P - 8A. 12-Hour Shifts from either 7P/A - 7A/P, 8A/P - 8P/A, and 9A - 9P. Our new station has a common space available for shift downtimes as well as 8 private bedrooms for use. Schedules are made 2-3 months out, and our 24/16 rotation includes 5 days off in a row every 3 weeks.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
