Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator Lead to assist in small group and individual pupil instruction under the direction of a Special Education teacher. The role includes supervision, discipline support, and assisting with instructional activities throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include helping with IEP implementation, escorting students, and preparing materials. Candidates may need to assist with toileting and adapt to classroom needs during recess and lunch periods.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, two years college credit or an associate degree, or Parapro Assessment.
  • Language skills: ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
  • Math skills: basic arithmetic with two-digit numbers, money, weight, volume, and distance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in small group and individual pupil instruction under the supervision of the special education teacher.
  • Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and in instructional activities.
  • Escort students between rooms and supervise during recess and lunch.
  • Assist with IEP implementation and classroom paperwork as needed.
  • Support toileting of students and assist with materials preparation.
