Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a City-Wide Resource Paraeducator (High School) to assist in small group and individual pupil instruction at Bristol Central High School. The role involves supporting the special education teacher with instructional activities and behavior management.

Responsibilities include escorting students, assisting with IEP implementation, and occasionally toileting students. The position is full-time during the school day with a 6.5-hour schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; two years of college credit or an associate's degree, or completion of Parapro Assessment.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos and short correspondence; write simple notes.
• Experience assisting in instruction and supporting students with tasks and behavior in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in small group and individual pupil instruction under supervision.
• Assist teacher with maintaining discipline and classroom management.
• Support instructional activities and copy materials for lessons.
