Job summary

Fresh Coat Painters is seeking a Lead Painter to own the job site from start to finish, blending advanced painting skills with leadership, clear communication, and accountability to deliver projects on time and within budget while upholding Fresh Coat quality standards.

In this role you will lead and manage crews on residential and commercial sites, ensure proper prep, application, and finishing, perform final touch-ups and walkthroughs, keep customers informed, and coordinate with the Project

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional painting experience.
• Prior experience leading crews preferred.
• Strong knowledge of interior and exterior painting systems.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage time, people, and materials effectively.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage painters on assigned job sites.
• Assign daily tasks and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Set the tone for professionalism, safety, and efficiency.
• Review project scope and work order before job start.
• Ensure proper prep, application, and finishing techniques.
• Perform final walkthroughs and touch-ups.
• Ensure work meets Fresh Coat standards before customer sign-off.
• On-site communication with customers; explain plans and timelines.
• Escalate issues to the Project Manager when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
• Track materials and notify management of shortages.
• Ensure tools and equipment are used and stored properly.
• Take required job photos and documentation.
• Track crew hours and productivity; report changes promptly.
• Support job costing and close-out procedures.
