Job summary

Prince George’s County Government’s Office of Central Services is seeking a Lead Painter (Maintenance Services Attendant III) to lead a crew of skilled trades across county facilities. This essential supervisory role oversees painting, refinishing, and related tasks, coordinating with carpentry and other trades to meet schedules.

The position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and maintenance-trades experience; lead experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or vocational school diploma or equivalent.
• Responsible experience in general maintenance trades at full performance level.
• Valid driver's license with no more than six points.
• Willingness to respond to emergency service on a 24-hour basis.
• Good physical condition.

Responsibilities

• Performs painting, restorative, and improvement work in various county buildings, including walls, ceilings, and surfaces.
• Leads and directs Maintenance Service Attendants and Trades Helpers on complex painting/refinishing projects.
• Responds to work orders via the SAP Work Order Management system; coordinates with Carpentry Team.
• Directs Carpentry Team in major painting/refinishing efforts and ensures timely completion.
