Job summary

Nippon Paint Automotive Americas, Inc. seeks a chemist to support customer and OEM technical needs, including color correlations, chart loading, and product recommendations.

You will contribute to development, testing, and successful commercialization of new products and programs, while troubleshooting testing failures and aligning with the Technical Manager's goals. The role requires direct lab work, collaboration with suppliers and customers, and occasional travel to customer or OEM sites for

Qualifications

• College degree in chemistry or science field with 7 years relevant experience.
• Willing and able to travel and work overtime as required
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Adapts well to priority shifts

Responsibilities

• Performs and implements the administration of lab operations.
• Completes formulation activities and standards with business strategies.
• Ensures that paint quality conforms to established product specifications.
• Writes and maintains reports documenting product development, evaluation of raw materials, supplier visits, and technical support, and presents reports to customer.
• Direct customer responsibility for support needs with at least 50% of time in the lab.
• Travels to customer or OEM in support of new programs or product launches.
• Establishes key customer contacts and builds business relationships.
• Manages group attendance, safety compliance, and other company programs.
