Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking a Lead Packaging Maintenance Mechanic for our high-speed food production facility in DuPage County, IL. This on-site role supports multiple lines, focusing on keeping equipment running and performing refurbishments as needed.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults, mentor junior technicians, and participate in a CMMS-driven maintenance program to ensure uptime and safety. Competitive hourly pay and overtime are available.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging, co-packing, or food manufacturing.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting ability, with no full electrician credentials required.
• Proven experience maintaining and rebuilding packaging machinery such as baggers, form-fill-seal equipment, and sealers.

Responsibilities

• Keep high-speed packaging and processing equipment running across a large, multi-line plant.
• Rebuild and refurbish machinery to like-new condition during planned and emergency downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults on baggers, sealers, scales, and supporting equipment; fix without waiting for help.
• Handle electrical troubleshooting and repairs on the lines as part of daily work.
• Teach and mentor junior technicians, passing along knowledge.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and log all work in the CMMS.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering on improvement projects.
