Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Lead Packaging Maintenance Mechanic for an on-site role in DuPage County, IL. The position handles high-speed packaging and processing lines, with emphasis on electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

You will lead a small team, rebuild equipment as needed, and document all work in the CMMS while collaborating with operations and engineering on improvement projects.

Qualifications

5–10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging or related fields.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills without full electrician credentials.
Experience maintaining and rebuilding baggers, form-fill-seal equipment, and sealers.
CMMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Keep high-speed packaging and processing equipment running across a large plant.
Rebuild and refurbish machinery to like-new condition during planned and downtime.
Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults and fix without waiting for help.
Handle electrical troubleshooting and repairs on the lines daily.
Coach and mentor junior technicians on best practices.
Complete preventive maintenance tasks and document work in CMMS.
Collaborate with operations and engineering on improvement projects.
