Job summary

BW Design Group is seeking a Packaging Project Manager to join our Packaging Systems Practice. You will work with a team of industry experts to deliver high‑quality packaging automation solutions for leading clients, supporting capital projects from design through start‑up.

We value hands-on mechanical design, strong CAD skills, and experience with packaging equipment, PLC/HMI/VFDs, and on‑site coordination with vendors and contractors. Travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in packaging solutions, mechanical design and project engineering.
• Understanding of packaging equipment (filling, secondary packaging, palletizing) across industries.
• Experience with integrated packaging lines is preferred.
• Experience in beverage, food, consumer products, pharma or industrial engineering industries is preferred.
• Experience writing scope of work and managing contractors on-site.
• Strong CAD, SOPs and cGMP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation packaging lines.
• Oversee mechanical design including estimation, budgeting, scheduling, specs, bid analysis, procurement and start-up.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations.
• Lead communications with vendors and contractors (OEMs).
• Provide engineering solutions for continuous improvement using standard tools and methods.
• Evaluate packaging operations and drive projects to improve ROI and productivity.
• Identify and specify project tooling for packaging equipment needs.
• Make an impact daily with your expertise in client and team interactions.
