Job summary

Escape Velocity, a fully remote game studio, is seeking a Lead Outsourcing VFX Artist to drive high-end visual effects for heroes, characters, and items.

You will direct outsourcing partners, set technical standards, and optimize pipelines while collaborating with directors and the VFX team. Experience with Unreal, Maya, Houdini and live-service games is a plus; we value clear communication and proactive problem-solving.

• Direct high-quality AAA VFX for gameplay-driven cosmetics.
• Set visual direction and technical guidelines with directors and the VFX team.
• Train and unblock outsourcing partners; support schedules.
• Quickly resolve ambiguity and champion sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct high-quality AAA VFX to support gameplay-driven cosmetics for characters and items.
• Establish visual direction and technical guidelines with directors and the VFX team, analyse and provide feedback to improve artistic quality and technical performance of outsourced assets.
• Train and unblock outsourcing partners, provide best practices and samples, and support production schedules.
• Generate answers quickly to resolve ambiguity, and champion for best sustainable practices.
