Job summary

Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute (OCSRI) is seeking an Outpatient Retail Oncology Pharmacist to lead the outpatient retail pharmacy as Pharmacist in Charge. You will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure safe, compliant dispensing while supporting medication access for patients.

You will collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and care teams to optimize therapy, educate patients, and apply evidence‑based practices in a fast-paced oncology environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), pharmacy residency, or other advanced degree preferred.
• Current and unrestricted Oklahoma Pharmacist license required.
• Previous retail, specialty, ambulatory, or oncology pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with oncology medications, IV admixture preparation, and/or cleanroom compounding highly desired.
• Ability to evaluate clinical literature and appropriately apply evidence‑based information to patient care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Collaborative, patient‑focused approach with the ability to work effectively with a diverse multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and oversee the daily operations of the outpatient retail pharmacy.
• Provide safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of prescription medications while ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Provide comprehensive medication counseling and education to patients, caregivers, and clinical staff.
• Lead and support pharmacy technicians, including daily workflow, staffing, training, and operational oversight.
• Partner with providers, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other care team members to resolve medication-related concerns and support continuity of care.
• Assist patients and the care team with medication access and reducing barriers to treatment.
• Monitor medication purchasing and utilization, focusing on high-cost meds for cost-saving opportunities.
• Support inventory management and ensure medication availability.
• Review clinical literature and apply evidence‑based information to practice.
• Provide cross‑coverage for Outpatient Oncology Clinical Pharmacist as needed.
• Support and adhere to the OCSRI Compliance Program and Ethics.
