Job summary

Kids Dental Place & Orthodontics in Glendale, CA seeks a Lead Orthodontic Assistant to provide efficient, high-quality care to our patients. This role reports to the Lead Orthodontic Assistant.

Responsibilities include training, explaining treatments, maintaining a clean facility, and supporting underserved children with dental, vision, and orthodontic services.

Qualifications

• Active certification meeting state requirements.
• Radiology education meeting state requirements.
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to train and lead a team of Orthodontic Assistants.
• Experience leading multi-dimensional, cross-functional tasks.

• Set clear expectations for teammates around patient experience and respond promptly to customers’ needs.
• Support optimized schedules with open treatment calls to educate patient parents/guardians on urgency of their pending treatment.
• Participate in Orthodontic Assistant interviews and performance evaluations.
• Ensure the practice is clean and presentable to patients (restrooms, lobby, etc.).
• Participate in other duties that support high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.

Kids Dental Place & Orthodontics in Glendale, CA is currently seeking a Lead Orthodontic Assistant to provide efficient, high-quality care to our patients. This position will report to the Lead Orthodontic Assistant.

Pay range: $27-$32/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and training of Orthodontic Assistants and lead group trainings as necessary
• Explain treatment and tailor personal care education to the patient’s needs
• Establish clear expectations for teammates around desired patient experience and respond promptly to customers’ needs
• Support optimized schedules with effective open treatment calls on a regular basis with a goal of providing education to patient parent/guardians on the importance and urgency of their pending treatment
• Participate in Orthodontic Assistant interviews and performance evaluations
• Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting etc.
• Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children

Minimum Qualifications

• Active certification that meets state requirements
• Radiology education and training that meets state requirements
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to train and lead a team of Orthodontic Assistants
• Experience leading multi-dimensional, cross-functional tasks

Physical Requirements

This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand, bend, communicate verbally (both in person and by telephone), use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a standard clinical environment. This role routinely utilizes standard dental equipment.
