Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to drive end-to-end optical transport initiatives within the Network Connectivity Services team. You will design, deploy, operate, and validate advanced DWDM/OTN solutions, while applying AI-assisted methods to optimize infrastructure workflows and ensure security and auditability.

You will own critical projects, coordinate installs and migrations, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience using enterprise AI capabilities to support infrastructure workflows with validation habits.
• Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations for resiliency, security, and auditability.
• Knowledge of data centers, racks, patch panels, DC power.
• Deep knowledge of optical transport tech incl ROADM, OTN, coherent optics.
• Proven end-to-end network project leadership and handoff.
• Automation experience (Python) and APIs/data formats.
• Strong communication and documentation; on-call readiness.

Responsibilities

• Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs.
• Applies AI-assisted practices to identify recurring issues and ensure changes are traceable and auditable.
• Drive the optical transport network workstream by designing, deploying, operating, and configuring transport services (DWDM, ROADM, 400G OTN).
• Coordinate projects to deliver installs, turn-ups, migrations, and decommissions with change execution per policies.
• Provide L3/L4 escalation support and participate in on-call rotations; lead major RCAs and preventative actions.
• Maintain runbooks/KBs and perform capacity planning, HW/SW upgrades lifecycle management.
