Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in the United States seeks a Senior Engineer, Long Haul Wave to own the end-to-end design, provisioning, validation, and customer acceptance of backbone wavelength services—from feasibility through handoff.

You will operate across Nokia and Ciena platforms, coordinate with NOC, field teams, and vendors, and drive documentation, automation, and process improvement to ensure reliable, scalable transport networks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of DWDM and optical transport engineering experience.
• Experience provisioning and troubleshooting on multi-vendor equipment.
• Strong ability to design end-to-end backbone wavelength services.
• Experience with Nokia/Ciena platforms and OSS tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer end-to-end backbone wavelength services, including feasibility studies and route selection.
• Perform wavelength assignment and optical spectrum optimization.
• Provision and turn up wavelength services across multi-vendor networks.
• Configure, integrate, and maintain optical network services across vendor boundaries.
• Validate optical performance through power verification and service acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot complex network, optical, and service-layer issues across segments.
• Collaborate with NOC, field ops, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and service inventories.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and customer acceptance criteria.
