Job summary

The Select Group is seeking a Senior Optical Transport Engineer to design, provision, validate and turn-up long-haul backbone services in a hybrid role based in Mount Laurel, NJ or Denver, CO. You own end-to-end lifecycle across multi-vendor DWDM networks, from feasibility to production-ready delivery, ensuring performance, reliability and customer success.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in optical transport, strong DWDM/ROADM expertise, and proven cross-team collaboration with operations,

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering DWDM/optical transport in a carrier/large provider.
• Deep knowledge of DWDM, ROADM, wavelength planning, amplification, OSNR, dispersion.
• Experience provisioning/troubleshooting on major vendor equipment across multiple platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end circuits across multi-vendor environments.
• Strong documentation and customer/ops/vendor liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of backbone wavelength services.
• Design, provisioning, validation, testing, and customer turn-up.
• Ensure production readiness and service acceptance.
• Coordinate across network segments including metro, national backbone.
• Maintain single-owner delivery model.
