Job summary
Corning in Corning, NY is seeking a Staff Engineer - Measurements to lead the development and deployment of advanced measurement systems using optical metrology and machine vision to support product and process development, quality control, and manufacturing operations. You will drive technology transfer from lab to production and collaborate with multiple functions to optimize measurement solutions.

Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in engineering or related field.
- Hands-on optical metrology and/or machine vision experience.
- Proficient with Python, OpenCV, MATLAB; LabVIEW experience a plus.
- Experience deploying ML techniques (CNNs) in manufacturing.
- Ability to communicate with internal customers and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, build, and testing of measurement systems with optical metrology and machine vision.
- Prototype proof-of-concepts and transition to production-ready solutions.
- Develop image processing algorithms for feature extraction and metrology.
- Lead cross-functional teams and manage external vendors as needed.
- Train staff and provide remote and onsite troubleshooting of systems.
