Job summary

AMD is seeking an experienced Optical Interconnect System Integration and Qualification Engineer in Santa Clara, CA. You will lead system‑level integration, qualification, and validation for next‑generation optical and high‑speed electrical interconnects for AI scale‑out platforms.

You will drive qualification across 400G/800G/1.6T technologies, PMA/PLM, CMIS, and related interfaces, partnering with ASIC, firmware, diagnostics, and vendor teams to ensure robust, production‑ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in optical networking and high‑speed data interconnects.
• Proven track record with 100G/200G PAM4 links and CMIS/OSA standards.
• Hands‑on qualification of optical transceivers and system‑level validation.
• Strong debugging, cross‑functional leadership and technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead optical transceiver and cable qualification for high‑speed AMD platforms.
• Develop and execute qualification plans for 400G, 800G, 1.6T interconnects.
• Validate 100G/200G PAM4 links and perform SI/PI analysis.
• Collaborate with ASIC, firmware, diagnostics, and vendor teams.
• Produce automation for test execution and data analysis.
