Job summary

AMD in San Jose seeks a Silicon Photonics Validation and Characterization Test Engineer to lead validation efforts across wafer-sort, die-level, and CPO-level testing, collaborating with silicon design, DFT, packaging, and product teams.

You will develop test solutions, train engineers, and drive production-ready fixtures and automation, tackling complex test challenges in high‑volume manufacturing of optical interconnect technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience in silicon photonics validation and characterization test.
• Ability to lead validation and test engineering teams.
• Experience with test fixtures and automation development.

Responsibilities

• Architect and define test solutions for silicon photonics at wafer-sort, die-level, and CPO-level.
• Collaborate with design, packaging, and suppliers to understand mechanisms affecting performance and yield.
• Interface with suppliers to enable production-worthy end-to-end solutions.
• Train teams in silicon photonics test methods across design, packaging, and volume test.
• Develop test fixtures and automation software in collaboration with hardware and firmware teams.
• Identify and mitigate test challenges and drive large technical projects on schedule.
