Job summary

Prism Vision Group's Spokane Eye Clinic in Spokane, WA is seeking a Lead Ophthalmic Technician onsite. You will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise staff, coordinate clinical activities, and serve as liaison between the physician and the team.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians in complex procedures, documenting exams, and conducting tests such as OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, and biometry; administering medications; and ensuring adherence to protocols

Qualifications

• 8+ years as ophthalmic assistant; 2+ years on the floor in a leadership role.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) required or equivalent.
• GED or higher; Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the team to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Assist physicians in complex procedures and advanced diagnostics.
• Review charts for completeness and accuracy of information.
• Record ocular and systemic history and visual acuity.
• Perform OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry testing.
• Conduct lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exam with tonometry and anatomy checks.
• Serve as primary team contact; document in EMR or paper charts.
• Administer ophthalmic medications and ensure informed consent.
• Educate patients and oversee patient flow and exam room cleanliness.
• Collaborate with clinic manager to identify improvements and ensure compliance.
