Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is required or equivalent.
• 8+ years as ophthalmic assistant and 2+ years in leadership on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the team to maintain high standards and efficiency.
• Assist physician in complex procedures and advanced diagnostic testing.
• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Conduct slit lamp exams including tonometry and anterior chamber assessment.
• Serve as primary liaison between physician and team; act as scribe.
• Manage patient flow and maintain exam room cleanliness during the day.
