Job summary

The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami is hiring a full-time Ophthalmic Technician II for our Palm Beach Gardens campus. The OT2 carries out clinical testing and documentation in the EMR, supporting eye care providers with patient-focused services.

Responsibilities include testing, imaging, and refractions, while ensuring safety and accuracy. Occasional travel to satellite centers and after-hours coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• COA certification required (or eligible).
• BLS certification required.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Document results and patient data in the EMR.
• Provide patient-centric ophthalmic care and support providers.
• Assist in imaging, refractions, and ocular tests as needed.
• Travel to satellite centers when required and support evening/weekend coverage.
• Train and onboard clinical support staff.
• Maintain equipment calibration and infection control practices.
