Job summary

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has an exciting full time opportunity for an Ophthalmic Technician 1 (OI1) in Miami, Florida. The Ophthalmic Technician 1 (OT1) is competent in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of relevant ophthalmic experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents tests in the EMR during patient visits.
• Provides patient-centered care and supports providers.
• Maintains equipment calibration and prepares rooms.
• Assists with intravitreal injection prep and motility testing.
• Travels to satellite eye centers when needed.
