Xcel Energy in Colorado is seeking an Operations Planner Team Lead to oversee planning, scheduling, and coordination of field work across regions. You will mentor planners, optimize resources, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while aligning with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8 years of experience in construction, design, maintenance, or operations with 3 years in a senior planning role.
• Mastery in scheduling, planning, and operational coordination in utility or construction industries.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, mentor staff and manage complex work activities to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with cross-team collaboration.
• Proficiency with Excel and other spreadsheet tools; familiarity with Microsoft products and scheduling tools.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee rolling 0–12+ week schedule across regions to align priorities and resources.
• Review projects for prerequisites and coordinate equipment, materials, and third-party services.
• Mentor and train planners, set performance standards and drive process improvements.
• Forecast personnel, equipment and material needs; optimize resource allocation.
• Analyze scheduling performance and lead monthly metric reviews for improvements.
• Engage stakeholders and customers with timely scheduling updates and coordination.
• Ensure timely job closeout, documentation, and financial stewardship of work.
• Handle emergency response and storm restoration coordination as needed.
