Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Lead, Open Source Program Office to join our remote team shaping strategy and governance for the organization’s open-source program. You will partner with Cyber Security, Legal and engineering to strengthen software supply-chain controls, licensing compliance, and scalable contribution practices.

This leadership role requires 9+ years of combined experience including engineering, architecture and leadership, with strong knowledge of software supply chains and SCA licensing.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of combined education and work experience, including 4 years in engineering or architecture and 3 years in leadership roles.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, DevSecOps, or open-source program management.
• Strong understanding of software supply-chain concepts and open-source governance.
• Experience with Software Composition Analysis (SCA) and open-source licensing.
• Proficiency in project management and relevant software applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of the open-source program office strategy and governance framework.
• Define standards and processes for open-source software usage and contribution.
• Establish a risk-based governance model for efficient open-source use.
• Serve as the primary partner for Cyber Security on software supply-chain security.
• Collaborate with Legal to define standards for open-source licenses and compliance.
• Develop scalable workflows for license management and compliance evidence.
• Promote InnerSource practices to enhance collaboration and reuse across teams.

For our client, we are seeking a Lead, Open Source Program Office to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. In this remote leadership role, you will shape the strategy and governance model for the organization’s open-source software program. You will partner closely with Cyber Security, Legal, and engineering stakeholders to strengthen software supply-chain controls, licensing compliance, and scalable contribution practices. This position is well suited for a technology leader who can combine governance discipline with practical software engineering insight to enable secure, efficient use of open-source assets.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $116,400 – $194,000 annually
