Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. seeks an Automation/Robotics Engineer for our on‑site team in Martin, TN.

You will program, maintain and install equipment and robots, coordinating schedules and ensuring quality and production standards. You will lead engineering activities, train personnel, collaborate across Maintenance, Facility and Engineering, and oversee turnkey projects while pursuing productivity improvements and lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• NFPA 70E - Lockout Tagout safety procedures.
• Experience to manage and direct all engineering activities.
• Strong background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, robotics and mechanical systems.
• Lead equipment/systems troubleshooting and repair.
• Proven project development and management experience.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of CAD, drawings, blueprint reading, and advanced arithmetic.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Train new engineering personnel.
• Support Co – Op Program (candidate review, interviewing, scheduling, etc.).
• Design and implement production-related equipment.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Facility and Engineering for production operations.
• Participate in designing and acquiring new machines and equipment.
• Provide cost estimates for projects and oversee turnkey execution.
• Evaluate existing equipment and recommend productivity improvements.
• Identify and complete lean manufacturing projects (e.g. 3P).
• Maintain safety, quality and ISO procedures.
• Travel to other facilities for learning and continuous improvement as needed.
