Job summary

Deer Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Wimberley, Texas, seeks a Staff Occupational Therapist to evaluate residents, design and implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, families, and the health team.

You will supervise COTA, provide in-services, document in medical records, and participate in care conferences and quality initiatives while promoting safe, evidence-based therapy and fall prevention.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state.
• Must maintain licensure in good standing with the state board.
• CPR certification, if required by licensure.
• Continuing education requirements per state practices.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine OT needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility and independence.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides.
• Communicate progress and discharge plans with physicians, nursing staff, residents, and families.
• Provide in-services and training for facility staff; participate in care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in compliance with regulations.
