Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, prefer graduates of Masters or Doctorate Program in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state; maintain license in good standing; CPR certification if required by licensure.
• Proficient with computer systems for documentation (Net Health and Point Click Care).
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals and technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine OT needs, rehabilitation potential, and develop treatment plans to improve mobility and independence.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides; train Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, residents and families; participate in care conferences and discharge planning.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility, governmental, and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment; educate on home exercise programs and fall prevention; facilitate ordering of necessary equipment.
• Contribute to quality assurance and facility rehabilitation program development; ensure confidentiality of resident and company information.
• Relate positively and effectively with residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
